Yes! The first lesson and all of its components are available for free.
Yes! The course includes detailed instructions for 25 hands-on activities using materials that can be easily obtained from your pantry and your local big box store. The course also includes instructions for 5 formal labs that will require more sophisticated glassware and more exotic chemicals, both available online via links provided in the course.
Access to Captivated Chemistry is designed for one student at a time. Additional students will require additional accounts.
Students MUST have completed a full course in Algebra 1 before starting Captivating Chemistry. Even the base course, Chemistry Concepts, will require occasional use of significant figures, unit conversions, and logarithms. These concepts will be reviewed within the course, but your student will have a much better experience if they’ve already had Algebra 1. The honors (Computational Chemistry) and AP (College Ready Chemistry) components of the course will absolutely require algebra knowledge.

All elements of your Captivated Chemistry course will run seamlessly and elegantly on any modern device (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop) and browser. The multimedia components of the course will require a good internet connection for the best possible experience.
No problem at all! The running grade report will show the grade average and percent completion at each level. You would just report the score for the highest section successfully completed on your transcript.
